Biloxi, MS – Cajun Food & Shrimp Boats
In between Dauphin Island and New Orleans we had a few days to stop in Biloxi, MS. We parked our RV at Southern Comfort RV Park in Biloxi. It is literally right across the street from the beach. Of course, everything in Biloxi is right across the street from the beach. The main road drives right next to the coast. Not my idea of a relaxing beach, but a beach nonetheless. Southern Comfort was nice enough. Fairly cheap, near everything, full hook ups, laundry, showers and a pool. Biloxi has all the touristy restaurants and souvenir shops but, we like to go local as much as possible. We kept seeing signs for a Cajun buffet. So, we checked it out and, oh wow! We stumbled into real, local, cajun, all you can eat buffet for $9.19! What!?! We are talking cajun fried chicken, cajun fried fish, rutabaga, greens, dirty rice, biscuits and more. Delicious! The place was packed and the people just kept coming. Definitely a foodie find. The name of the place is Cajun’s Fabulous Fried Chicken, technically in Gulfport, MS. Here are a few pics of our plates and my husband chowin’ down on his fried chicken, just so you can get a mouth watering idea.
Next stop, SHRIMP BOAT TOUR!!! I was super excited to do this. We had seen a shrimp boat pass by a couple of days before in Dauphin Island and it was the neatest sight with the birds following trying to pick off an easy meal. So when I saw the advertisement for a shrimp boat tour I jumped at the opportunity. Cheap and educational. And sure to have some great photo ops. If you get the chance to do this you should. It is always neat to learn new things and explore. And after seeing it done I am fairly certain I could run my own shrimp boat. 😉 We caught a crab trap! And, I snapped tons of photos, so enjoy!
