Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

The EHAMIOTAID Project (the mental health awareness project that my husband and I are doing) recently had the opportunity to go do some mental health advocacy in Canada! As you can imagine, we were super excited about this. Neither of us had really ever been to Canada so we jumped at the chance. Not only did we meet some great people with big hearts, fight the stigma of mental health and hopefully encourage others, we got to see some beautiful Ontario countryside, visit the beaches of Lake Ontario

Sandbanks, Lake Ontario

Cobourg Beach, Lake Ontario

and finally see the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. We had seen the American side a few years ago but, as everyone knows, the Canadian side has the better views.

There are tons of things to do in Niagara Falls, Ontario, but, we are not the glitzy travelers that go for all the touristy things. We are more low key. I love nature so I stick to the nature side of things more so than the tourist attractions. We saw the falls, took pics, went to Journey Behind the Falls and bought a magnet as a souvenir. First off, for $20 Canadian you can park all day at the falls, pretty cheap for such an amazing site. Journey Behind the Falls was a little more at $45 Canadian each but, it takes you through tunnels under and behind the falls and you come out at the bottom of the falls to an observation deck. Pretty neat! We were going to do Maid of the Mist but, decided not to since we already paid for Journey Behind the Falls. Maid of the Mist would have been cool to do but, really it is just more of the falls which we were seeing extensively already, so we opted out. For those rver’s out there, we stayed at the KOA in Niagara Falls, Canada. It was decently priced, conveniently located and a nice campground. I would recommend it. There are a lot of rented rvs staying there with tourist, so if you are a full timer be aware of that. It really didn’t affect us, just a lot of people coming and going. Also, a helpful side note, if you are from the US they will take your US cash but, at a lower % than it’s worth, so it is best to pay in Canadian money or use your plastic. Now for more pictures!!! Enjoy!
